@soma.cocktailsandwonders is a TTDI cocktail bar with alcoholic tong sui & tau fu fa! Established in November 2018, this cocktail bar lurks above a regular shoplot on Jalan Aminuddin Baki. The unsuspecting stairway typically goes unnoticed by people walking by, who rarely give it a second glance.

Once inside, you’ll immediately feel at home in the bar’s fancy yet effortlessly relaxed ambiance. In addition, dark leather chairs and soft jazz in the background set the scene for a cozy date or a casual catch-up with a few friends.

At Soma, the focus is on crafting exceptional cocktails, blending classic and contemporary styles, as evidenced by the impressive selection of spirits on display. Formerly a chef, Jason Julian now leads as the bar’s director and co-owner, applying his culinary expertise to craft the outstanding flavors found in Soma’s creations.

The Yuzu Sour blends citrus gin, triple sec, yuzu puree, and a hint of lime juice for a tantalizing flavor experience. The flavor profile is both sweet and slightly tangy, offering a truly rejuvenating experience.

Besides that, the beloved Peanut Butter cocktail features hazelnut liqueur, peanut butter, milk, egg whites, and vanilla syrup, garnished with a sprinkle of grated nutmeg. With a rich, creamy texture, it remains satisfying without being overly indulgent.

Additionally, the bar offers a Pei Pa Koa cocktail, created upon a customer’s request while feeling unwell. Retaining its place on their menu under the name Obat Batuk, this quirky cocktail continues to delight with its unexpectedly delicious taste.

Star of the Show: Tau Fu Fa

The homemade beancurd’s smoothness left us amazed, especially when combined with dark rum and a choice of brown sugar or ginger syrup. Each day, they produce a limited quantity that sells out in no time.
